About Dr. Epstein

Dr. Epstein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the American Board of Otolaryngology. Since 1994, he has been in private clinical practice, as well as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Miami, Division of Facial Plastic Surgery, where he teaches his techniques to residents and fellows. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he maintains his main office in Miami, but also sees consults in Tampa, Boca Raton, and NYC. His extensive training, passion for perfection, and innate aesthetic skills are combined with the most advanced surgical techniques, enabling him to provide the finest available cosmetic and revision facial plastic surgery.

After graduating from Swarthmore College, Dr. Epstein received his medical training at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He continued his training in head and neck surgery and otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat) at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, and was awarded a fellowship by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, studying under Sheldon Kabaker, M.D., a leading authority in facial cosmetic surgery and hair restoration.

The Foundation surgeons routinely teach their techniques to doctors from around the world. Here Dr. Epstein is pictured with the Inter- national Fellow from the University of Miami's Cosmetic Dermatology program.

Pictured here is Dr. Epstein with two doctors visiting him from Thailand.

Upon completion of this training in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, for attaining the highest score in the nation on his board exams, Dr. Epstein was awarded the Jack Anderson Memorial Award by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

In addition to his active surgery practice, he has written numerous scientific articles and surgical text chapters, teaching his techniques to doctors from around the world who come to visit him in his office. Recognized by the lay press as an expert in his field of facial plastic surgery, Dr. Epstein appears regularly in the media. Recognition by his peers culminated in his being elected President of the Florida Society of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1999. He also regularly teaches his techniques at national and international meetings.

DR. EPSTEIN'S PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY

The skills and the means to change an individuals appearances confers an incredibly important responsibility. It is Dr. Epsteins approach to provide the most natural appearance, assuring features that are in harmony with the rest of the face and body. Many times the patient is merely concerned about, and would benefit most from the improvement of, a minor imperfection; it is not necessary to "resculpt" the entire area, but rather to conservatively but successfully deliver the improvement. Other times, whether repairing the work done prior, or operating on a face with multiple cosmetic deficiencies, more extensive work is required.

For over 15 years now, this approach has served both Dr. Epstein and his patients well. Every year, Dr. Epstein performs hundreds and hundreds of surgeries, with particular concentration in blepharoplasty and other facial plastic surgery procedures. His patients come from throughout the world, many finding out about his work through internet chat rooms, as well as from other doctors.

O V E R V I E W

Dr. Epstein also provides pro bono reconstructive surgery to children and other people of need. As Founder and Director of the Foundation for Hair Restoration and Plastic Surgery in 2008, Dr. Epstein has created a multi-doctor, multi-state associated practice for cosmetic surgeons, one which is physician owned and controlled.
